Andrew Picken, OBE, a former scientist, Andrew is now an international development specialist with 25 years’ experience working for the British Council. For 15 years he lived overseas in Philippines, Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Turkey and Yugoslavia working as a director of British Council offices and programmes.
He has designed and managed British Council educational and governance projects for ODA (DFID), the European Commission (EC), the World Bank and several governments. The DFID Jordan Family Protection Project received a prestigious UN Peace award. In the last five years, he has started to specialize in social enterprise and climate change. He currently works part-time for the British Council leading their Climate Change programme.
